Thursday, counseling groups learned about Anxiety and how it impacts us: mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially.
Types of disorders that are common in Children: Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Separation Anxiety Disorder, and Unspecified Anxiety. We talked about the symptoms and criteria for diagnosis. We also talked about types of treatment: therapy models, skills, and medication management.
Students were encouraged to use their imagination and implement a solution-focused counseling skill: Where would you go if you could go anywhere to relieve stress? The kids did a great job on their pages! We are so proud to see the knowledge and empathy our kids are developing about mental health!
